BOSTON — A Boston college was positioned in secure mode Friday morning following a report of an individual with a gun.
Officers responding to Excel High School in South Boston round 10:30 a.m. positioned the constructing in secure mode to permit for an intensive sweep of the world, in accordance with the Boston Police Department.
The Boston Police Department introduced an arrest within the case late Friday afternoon. Jamari Searcy, 18, of South Boston is going through fees. Searcy will seem in South Boston District Court on fees of illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
The secure mode was lifted shortly after 1 p.m. after a firearm was recovered within the neighborhood, police stated. It’s unclear if the weapon is linked to the preliminary report.
The incident comes lower than 24 hours after a 7-year-old child was found with a loaded gun contained in the Up Academy Holland School in Dorchester.
On Wednesday, a Halloween costume and a prop gun caused a lockdown at two schools within the metropolis.
