An official assertion mentioned three YouTube channels – News Headlines, Sarkari Update and Aaj Tak Live – had been utilizing thumbnails and pictures of TV information channels and their information anchors to mislead viewers into believing that the information shared by them was genuine.

“These channels were also found to be displaying advertisements on their videos, and monetising misinformation on YouTube,” it mentioned.

The Fact Check unit of the Press Information Bureau mentioned these YouTube channels unfold false and sensational claims in regards to the Supreme Court, Chief Justice of India, authorities schemes, EVMs and farm mortgage waivers, amongst others.
