BALTIMORE — A New Jersey man is accused of making an attempt to smuggle medication by BWI airport.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say Gabriel Ruiz hid 30 kilos of cocaine in his electrical wheelchair.
The discovery was made again on June 20, when Ruiz flew from the Dominican Republic to Baltimore.
A safety X-ray confirmed one thing odd within the wheelchair’s seat and again cushions. That’s when brokers discovered 13 plastic wrapped bricks of cocaine, value almost 1,000,000 {dollars}.
Ruiz is now dealing with fees of narcotics importation and drug possession.
