The states which have been given income deficit grant are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland. , Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

The ministry has stated in a press release that the Department of Expenditure has launched the fourth month-to-month installment of Rs 7,183 crore to 14 states on Wednesday below the income deficit grant head.

Equal installments to be launched in 12 months
The Fifteenth Finance Commission has advisable the discharge of Rs 86,201 crore to 14 states for the fiscal 12 months 2022-23 as a part of the income deficit grant after sharing the central taxes. The grant can be launched in equal installments over 12 months.

Rs 28,733.67 crore launched
The ministry stated that after the fourth installment of July, 2022, Rs 28,733.67 crore has been launched to the states below the income deficit grant head.

The Finance Commission has determined the eligibility of the states to obtain this grant for the interval from the monetary 12 months 2020-21 to 2025-26, after contemplating the share of the central taxes and the quantity of grant, for the evaluation of the income and expenditure of the respective states.
