The Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet, which began in 1923, is celebrating 100 years of its basis this yr.

After the Nizam acceded Hyderabad state to Indian Union and the jagirdari system was abolished in 1950, the Jagirdars’ school was the Hyderabad Public School in 1951 beneath a society, which was fashioned beneath the Societies Registration Act.

It began with simply 5 college students and 6 academics beneath the primary founder-principal H W Shawcross. The first batch appeared for Senior Cambridge ‘O’ ranges in 1929. By 1930, the energy of the college was 150.

“It has been 30 years since I studied in HPS and I still cherish the memories. It is incredible that the historic institution is celebrating its centenary.
