Manoj Rathi / Mohali. Many cases of extortion by the police keep coming to the fore from the coming states of the country including Punjab. A similar case has come to the fore from Mohali where a suspended policeman of the police department along with his dentist partner was running a gang which used to extort money from famous people in filmy style. Mohali police achieved great success in this case. While doing this, five people of the gang have been arrested.

Giving information, senior police officers said that on the basis of secret information received in the case, the accused have been arrested. The accused used to extort huge amount from the people claiming themselves as crime branch and sometimes as STF officers and then absconded. All the arrested accused have recovered lakhs of rupees from many famous people of Sunny Enclave. The great thing is that one of the arrested accused is a dentist, who also has his own clinic in Kharar.

News18 has exclusive CCTV footage in which the accused are executing their crime in a filmy manner. It can be seen in the CCTV footage that the accused first stop a young man going in Swift and then after beating him up, forcefully take him to sit in their car. Later, they leave him after taking the money.

5 accused arrested in the case
Giving more details in the matter, the police officials said that when the accused were arrested, the accused were roaming in a Thar car on the airport road. The arrested accused Yadwinder Singh resident of Fatehgarh, Baljinder Singh resident of Ludhiana and Taranjit resident of Mohali belong to. On the tip of the accused, 2 more people have been arrested who are residents of Kharar. A case has also been registered against all the accused under several serious sections.
