Ahmedabad, October 29

Ahead of the Assembly polls in Gujarat to be held by the year-end, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) authorities within the state on Saturday determined to arrange a committee to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi stated the state cupboard cleared a proposal to represent the committee throughout its assembly held on Saturday.

This is taken into account the final assembly of the Bhupendra Patel-led cupboard because the schedule for the state elections is predicted to be introduced subsequent week.

“The committee will be headed by a retired high court judge and will have three to four members,” Union minister Parshottam Rupala stated.

Earlier, the BJP governments in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh had introduced implementation of the UCC of their states.
