Over three years after an Ambala resident raped a 15-year-old woman in August 2019, a fast-track court docket on Wednesday sentenced him to 20-year rigorous imprisonment (RI).

The man, who was convicted below Section 4 (2) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, was additionally fined 10,000 by the court docket of further classes choose Aarti Singh.

While the protection appealed for a lenient view citing his youthful brother’s loss of life and father’s paralysis, the general public prosecutor argued that the heinous act didn’t deserve any leniency and sought most punishment.

Notably, the minor was declared hostile, as she didn’t help the prosecution model.
