The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to entertain the plea of US tech big Google in opposition to an order of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) refusing an interim keep on the competitors regulator imposing a Rs 1,337 crore penalty on it.

A Bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices PS Narasimha and J B Pardiwala granted the US agency seven days to deposit 10 per cent of the penalty imposed by the Competition Commission of India (CCI).

The high court docket requested the NCLAT to resolve Google’s attraction in opposition to the competitors regulator’s order by March 31 this yr.

The US agency has been requested to strategy the NCLAT inside three working days from Thursday for searching for adjudication on its attraction in opposition to the CCI order.

The NCLAT had on January 4 refused to grant an interim keep on the order of the competitors regulator and requested Google to deposit 10 per cent of the penalty quantity.

The NCLAT had admitted the search big’s problem to the CCI slapping a Rs 1,337.76 crore nice for abusing the dominant place of its Android smartphone working system within the nation.
