Senior IAS officer Anurag Verma would be the new chief secretary of Punjab, in keeping with an official order issued on Monday.
He succeeds VK Janjua, who retires on June 30.
Verma, a 1993-batch IAS officer, is the extra chief secretary, residence affairs and justice at current.
He holds the extra costs of authorized and legislative affairs, industries and commerce, info expertise and funding promotion.
Verma, who belongs to Punjab and graduated in electronics engineering from Thapar University, Patiala, will take cost on July 1.
He will even maintain the cost of principal secretary, personnel and vigilance.
