BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – A Baldwin County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine after the sheriff’s workplace searched his house and car.

Robert Dewberry arrived for work when his supervisor pulled him apart and searched his car, in line with authorities. During their search, the Sheriffs Office mentioned they discovered kratom, an natural substance that produces the results of opium. Dewberry was relieved of responsibility.

The sheriff’s workplace mentioned they then performed a search of Dewberry’s house the place they discovered methamphetamine. Dewberry was fired, arrested and brought to Baldwin County Jail the place he bonded out on a $5,000 bond.

According to the sheriff’s workplace, they’d acquired a tip that Dewberry might have been doing medication and launched an investigation.

Dewberry had been with the BCSO for a pair years.
