DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — A Delray Beach girl stated she believes daring thieves focused her after leaving a grocery retailer and adopted her dwelling after they stole her automotive this week.
Nancy Jetta stated the brazen theft occurred whereas she unloading her baggage.
The incident was caught on her safety digital camera Monday afternoon.
Video reveals the automotive thieves driving a white BMW, then two of them go into her storage whereas she’s inside her dwelling.
In seconds, the robbers drove off along with her white Porsche.
“It’s a good scam. You are bringing in groceries and come out and the car is gone,” Jetta stated.
She admits she was improper to go away the storage door open and the keys within the automotive.
It was a chance, which police admit, was too good for the thieves to cross up.
Jetta believes the thieves noticed her leaving a Publix grocery retailer after which waited outdoors her home for the chance to strike.
“We won’t rule anything out. I know that the victim believes she may have been targeted from the grocery store, and we won’t discredit that,” Delray Beach police Sgt. Casey Kelly stated. “We can’t say that is the case or isn’t the case, but we know that there is a crime trend of vehicles being left unlocked.”
Jetta stated she has heard about others being focused similarly.
“In one neighborhood it happened to two people that were also unloading groceries, and when they came back outside the car was gone,” Jetta stated.
Her automotive was later discovered undamaged in Miami and returned to her.
“I’m going to just be much more observant of my surroundings,” Jetta stated.
