A Chandigarh court docket has acquitted a person accused of sexually harassing a British diplomat in 2021.

According to the police, the sufferer had complained that she was on a morning stroll close to Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) in Sector 10 on October 6, 2021, when the accused driving a motorbike hit and sexually harassed her.

The accused, Vishwas Kumar of Nayagaon locality in Chandigarh, was arrested two days later.

He was booked below Sections 354 (assault or legal power to girl with intent to outrage her modesty) and 354-A (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the Sector 3 police station.

The accused mentioned that he was being falsely implicated and opted for trial.

While an in depth order of the judgment was awaited, the court docket of chief judicial Justice of the Peace (CJM) Aman Inder Singh acquitted the accused on Tuesday.
