A Sector 38-based shopkeeper allegedly assaulted his enterprise rival following an argument over the latter’s Diwali stall, police stated on Thursday.

The sufferer, Jagdeep Arora, 40, a resident of Sector 40, instructed the police that he ran a toy store in Sector 38. For Diwali, he, alongside along with his assist, Sachin, was establishing a stall in entrance of his store, when Ajay Kumar, who runs the adjoining store, objected to it.

An argument ensued and Ajay requested his minor assist to thrash him, Arora alleged, including that the duo additionally shoved him to the bottom, inflicting a number of accidents.

He was taken to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh, from the place, after preliminary therapy, he was shifted to Max Hospital in Phase 6, Mohali.

Acting on Arora’s criticism, police arrested Kumar, 45, a resident of Sector 38, and his assist, 17. They have been booked underneath Sections 323 (voluntarily inflicting damage) and 325 (voluntarily inflicting grievous damage) of Indian Penal Code. The duo was later granted bail.
