Delhi Police has arrested one other individual within the Kanjhawala case through which a lady was dragged for 12 kilometres by a automotive that hit her scooter, officers stated on Friday.

The police have recognized the accused — the sixth individual to be arrested within the case — as Ashutosh.

“In (the) Sultanpuri case, sixth accused Ashutosh has been arrested who had given false information to the police. Further investigation is on,” Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sagar Preet Hooda stated.

The 5 accused arrested earlier allegedly borrowed the automotive underneath which the lady was dragged from Ashutosh.

On Thursday, the police stated they had been in search of two suspects who had been allegedly concerned in shielding the 5 accused who dragged the lady underneath their automotive.

Earlier, the police had arrested Deepak Khanna (26), Amit Khanna (25), Krishan (27), Mithun (26) and Manoj Mittal within the case.

After going by way of CCTV footage and name element data, the police zeroed in on two extra suspects — Ashutosh and Ankush Khanna — and stated they had been concerned in shielding the accused.

Ankush is the brother of accused Amit Khanna.

Amit Khanna doesn’t have a driving licence and after he knowledgeable Ankush concerning the accident, the latter allegedly satisfied Deepak, a Gramin Seva driver, to inform the police that he was behind the wheel on the time of the accident.

A 20-year-old lady was killed within the early hours of New Year after her scooter was hit by the automotive which dragged her for 12 kilometres from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala.
