Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath is anticipated to step down as the President of the Congress party in the state following the party’s significant defeat in the Assembly elections, as per sources on Tuesday, ANI reported.
Following a meeting with the Congress high command in the national capital, Nath was reportedly directed to appoint a new state president.
The Congress leader met with national president Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the national capital, with AICC general secretary KC Venugopal also present at the discussions.
