PRAYAGRAJ: The Phaphamau police on Sunday arrested a person for the homicide of a 55-year-old girl Keshlali whose physique was discovered within the fields in Rangpura space on May 2. The arrested man belongs to the identical village and confessed to have dedicated the homicide after a scuffle over irrigating his fields, mentioned police.

SHO of Phaphamau police station Ashish Singh mentioned the physique of Keshlali, bearing extreme damage marks, was discovered within the fields on May 2. On the criticism of her son Rakesh Yadav, an FIR was lodged in opposition to unidentified assailants.

After investigations, Shyam Yadav of the identical village was arrested. He confessed to his crime and instructed the police that Keshlali used to run a tubewell by means of which she used to irrigate fields of farmers in return for cash. Shyam’s fields have been earlier irrigated by Keshlali however he had not made cost. However, he was pressurising Keshlali to irrigate his fields once more. On May 2, Shyam had a scuffle with Keshlali over the difficulty following which he assaulted her with an axe and killed her, police mentioned.

On the confession of the accused, the axe used within the crime was recovered, the SHO added.
