ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) – Saturday night time, the City of Atlanta highlighted the life and achievements of civil rights chief Andrew Young, who’s celebrating his ninetieth birthday.

A gala was held in his honor to boost cash for the Andrew Young Foundation, which helps and promotes schooling, management and human rights.

The gala was held on the Georgia World Congress Center.

Young has been a civil rights chief, Georgia congressman, U.N. ambassador, mayor at Atlanta and businessesman.

Other civil rights leaders attended the occasion to honor Young.
