As a younger little one, Neal developed a love for baking along with her late cousin. Following her passing, pals of Neal’s cousin gifted her with the KitchenAid mixer they’d use whereas baking collectively.
Upon receiving the particular mixer, Neal remembers instantly begging her mom to get her components to make her personal cake. Though she admitted the primary try turned “the worst cake ever,” her baking expertise continued to develop, as did her enterprise savvy.
Originally beginning her enterprise across the age of 12, Neal mentioned taking enterprise lessons helped her construct a stronger enterprise than when she started.
“Honestly, I didn’t even have a plan. I just started selling it,” Neal mentioned. “And then once I got older and I realized with all the business classes I took, ‘OK, you need a market. You need to have prices that you’re actually going to make money.'”
When not serving scrumptious baked items, Neal serves as vp of West Johnston High’s chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and as president of her faculty’s chapter of DECA, all whereas taking honors and Advanced Placement lessons.
Neal captains her faculty’s tennis staff and participates in observe. She can also be energetic in her church.
Neal acquired an FBLA award within the Business Financial Plan division for her working marketing strategy on Homemade Nicole. In June, she is going to take part within the National FBLA Leadership Conference in Chicago
Heading to North Carolina A&T State University within the fall, Neal will research mass communication and journalism. She hopes to proceed baking and conserving her enterprise operating when she will.
“After college, I do want to be a journalist or a filmmaker or something like that,” Neal mentioned. But on the finish of the day, I’m going to have my bakery someday. I’m going to have my very own doorways to open up and for everybody to return.”
