NYPD rescues canine who fell into East River

LOWER MANHATTAN (WABC) — NYPD Emergency Service Unit officers rushed to save lots of the lifetime of a canine who bought away from its proprietor and jumped into the East River on Saturday morning.

‘Bebe’ broke free from his leash at South Street Seaport and took a dive off Pier 17.

He swam greater than 200 yards within the freezing chilly river.

Officers donned their water rescue gear and swam to the pet. They safely returned him to his anxiously awaiting proprietor.
