PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Officials are hoping the World Series might be a house run for Philadelphia’s tourism trade. From resorts to bars and eating places, many enterprise individuals are predicting — and a few are already seeing — a lift to Philly’s financial system.
“Philly’s a sports town,” Canopy Hotel gross sales director Ryan Todd stated.
Inside the Canopy Hotel in Center City, employees are making their rounds after the Phillies’ large win Sunday afternoon.
“Everybody’s pumped, people coming in,” Todd stated. “You can see people last night partying.”
Todd says he expects the Canopy Hotel to promote out when the Phillies play at house subsequent week as pleasure continues to construct.

Hillanbrand says now comes the preparation for when the Phillies play the World Series at house. He’s tripling his meals prep and he’s busy pre-ordering provides.
“Obviously,” Hillanbrand stated, “when Philly sports teams do well it draws so many people to the restaurant industry.”
Officials with Visit Philadelphia are predicting the World Series could have an enormous financial impression on many companies within the metropolis, each subsequent week and past.
“When we see those images of the Philadelphia skyline as you pan before a game or right before a commercial, we can’t pay for that advertising,” Visit Philly president Angela Val stated. “That is a way for people who might not know a lot about Philadelphia to get to know us.”
