NEW DELHI: Union residence minister Amit Shah on Thursday stated that members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) can pool their assets and experience to keep away from duplication of efforts and strengthen the area’s general catastrophe resilience method as he advocated a “collective responsibility approach”.

He additionally listed 5 main areas wherein SCO members can work: confidence-building efforts in Asia, collective duty method, increasing cooperation in communication and knowledge sharing, identification of precedence areas, and use of newly developed know-how in catastrophe resilience capability constructing.
“SCO member states can expand their cooperation on emergency situations by exchanging best practices of communication, coordination of response efforts and real-time information exchange. Effective communication and information exchange can help ensure timely, specialised coordinated response to emergent situations,” he added, in line with a press release issued by the ministry of residence affairs (MHA).
