Top political leaders on Thursday prolonged condolences over the demise of 5 military troopers in a terrorist assault in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge strongly condemned the fear assault on the military automobile carrying the troopers and condoled their demise saying “We are united against terrorism”.

Paying tributes to fallen troopers and increasing condolences to the bereaved households, senior Congress chief Rahul Gandhi stated the information of the demise of 5 troopers within the terrorist assault was extraordinarily saddening.

Delhi chief minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal expressed shock over the demise of the troopers and referred to as for the strongest punishment for these “behind this cowardly attack.”

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti stated, “Strongly condemn the heinous attack in Poonch. My deepest condolences to the families of the army jawans who were killed.”

Five Army personnel had been killed and one other was significantly injured after their automobile caught hearth following a terrorist assault in Poonch, the Army stated in an announcement. The deceased Army troopers had been from a Rashtriya Rifles unit deployed for counterterror operations.

“Today, at approximately 1500 hours, one Army vehicle, moving between Bhimber Gali and Poonch in the Rajauri sector was fired on by unidentified terrorists, taking advantage of heavy rains and low visibility in the area,” the assertion learn. “The vehicle caught fire, due to likely use of grenades by terrorists.”

The injured soldier is receiving remedy on the Army Hospital in Rajauri.

The Army stated operations are underway to catch the perpetrators.
