Local police claimed to have busted a gang of fraudsters, who duped eCommerce firms by creating faux IDs.

The accused used to create faux IDs, order mobiles after which take refunds citing defects in mobiles. “So far they’ve taken 19.68 lakh on the pretext of faulty cellphones. The accused later offered these cellphones available in the market,” the cops mentioned.

Sangrur SSP Surendra Lamba mentioned that the accused had duped eCommerce firm Flipkart by creating 82 faux IDs.

“The accused had ordered 82 cellphones from the corporate from separate IDs and later lodged return requests citing defects within the mobiles. They intentionally used to provide pickup areas of locations the place the ability was not out there. In such circumstances, the corporate used to return the cash earlier than getting the article again. They took benefit of this loophole and duped the corporate,” the SSP mentioned.

DSP (D) Karan Bir Singh mentioned that an FIR of comparable nature was additionally registered towards Ishu Garg and Ravinder Kumar on the Hyderabad metropolis police station.
