Warsaw:

A small aircraft crashed right into a hangar at an airfield close to Warsaw on Monday, killing 5 individuals, officers stated.

“We have at least seven injured and five dead,” Health Minister Adam Niedzielski wrote on Twitter.

Niedzielski stated 4 helicopters and 10 ambulances had been dispatched to the location of the accident within the village of Chrcynno, 47 kilometres (29 miles) from Warsaw.

The native fireplace division stated the incident occurred on the airfield in Chrcynno and posted a photograph on Facebook displaying the tail of the aircraft protruding of a hangar.

Contacted by AFP, native police spokeswoman Joanna Wielocha stated police had been known as at 1740 GMT to an accident.

Polish media stated the aircraft that crashed was a Cessna 208.

There had been individuals within the hangar who had been sheltering from unhealthy climate, PAP information company quoted fireplace brigade spokeswoman Monika Nowakowska-Brynda as saying.

She stated the climate was a “probable cause” for the crash.
