Tactical Nuclear Weapons' Deployment In Belarus Is Not Time-Limited: Russia

Russia introduced in March that it was deploying tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus

Moscow:

Russia’s deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus isn’t time-limited, state information company TASS quoted a senior Russian diplomat on Monday as saying.

Russia introduced in March that it was deploying tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, a detailed ally that has offered help for Moscow’s assault on Ukraine. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko mentioned the weapons started arriving final month.

The deployment is Moscow’s first transfer of such warheads – shorter-range much less highly effective nuclear weapons that might probably be used on the battlefield – exterior Russia for the reason that fall of the Soviet Union.

“As for the possible time frame for the presence of Russian tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, the Russian-Belarusian agreements do not imply any restrictions in this regard,” TASS cited Alexei Polishchuk, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s division of former Soviet states, as saying in an interview.

Polishchuk mentioned the weapons may hypothetically be faraway from Belarus if the United States and NATO “refrained from undermining the security and sovereignty of Russia and Belarus”.
