A Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper has adopted the canine he rescued after it was discovered final week deserted by the facet of a street within the warmth.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a Good Samaritan contacted the division on June 15 after they discovered a canine alongside the facet of Interstate 75 “parched and desperately needing water and shelter from the heat.”

The division stated the trooper arrived on the scene and provided the canine water and Little Debbie snacks.

The company stated the canine was taken to an animal shelter in Cleveland to obtain care.

On Friday, the division gave an replace on the canine, saying the trooper who saved it had determined to undertake it.

The company stated the canine, named Princess, will stay on the animal shelter to obtain remedy earlier than becoming a member of the trooper at his residence.
