Two staff of a jewelery store in Sector-17, Panchkula, have been booked for theft on the office.

The accused have been recognized as Gopal of Sector 19, Panchkula, and Shabnam of Buddhanpur.

Complainant Vimal Prakash, the proprietor of Vimal Jeweller, stated the accused have been working with him for the final three years. Whenever he needed to exit for work, he used to offer the store’s keys to Shabnam.

The complainant stated that a while in the past, he began noticing that jewelery objects stored within the locker used to go lacking.

On probing, he discovered that the closed-circuit tv (CCTV) cameras contained in the store was once switched off for a couple of hours throughout the day. On scanning the obtainable footage, he came upon that Gopal had been switching off the cameras.

Vimal stated that he was planning to open one other store so he used to maintain the jewelery meant for that store within the locker right here.

He stated that since May 2022, Gopal and Shabnam have been stealing jewelery from the store. He stated Shabnam’s husband Usman Ali can be concerned within the theft.

A case underneath Sections 381 (theft by clerk or servant) and 120B (prison conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered on the Sector-14 police station. The accused are but to be recognized.
