Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday inaugurated an intersection right here named after legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on the event of her 93rd start anniversary.

The Chief Minister within the presence of Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurated the intersection, ‘Lata Mangeshkar Chauraha’.

The intersection on the banks of the Saryu river has been developed at an estimated price of Rs 7.9 crore, in line with officers.

A 40-foot-long and 12-metre-high veena weighing 14 tonnes has been put in on the intersection, they stated.

Paying tributes to the enduring singer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet stated, “Remembering Lata Didi on her birth anniversary. There is so much that I recall… the innumerable interactions in which she would shower so much affection. I am glad that today, a Chowk in Ayodhya will be named after her. It is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest Indian icons.”

The intersection might be an incredible attraction for vacationers and music lovers. It is the primary place within the nation the place such a large musical instrument has been put in, officers stated.

Satyendra Singh, secretary of the Ayodhya Development Authority, which is managing the mission, informed PTI that Rs 7.9 crore has been spent on growing the intersection which is among the biggest initiatives of Ayodhya.

He stated the large veena has been made by Padma Shri awardee Ram Sutar, who took two months to make it.

“The beautifully designed veena has a picture of Saraswati, the goddess of music, engraved on it,” he added.
